A financial administrator who worked for the El Paso Education Initiative for twelve years, Esther Burnham (formerly Esther Furrer) graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin. Since leaving the El Paso Education Initiative, Esther Burnham has served as a grant researcher and writer for Austin Community College. Over the years, she has belonged to several professional groups, including the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO).
The premier professional resource for school finance and operations professionals in the state of Texas, TASBO offers a range of services to members, including certifications, networking events, and regulatory guidance. Additionally, the organization hosts ongoing training and education seminars throughout the year.
On January 18, 2017, TASBO will host Budget Boot Camp - Austin, a day-long workshop for first-year officials charged with creating district budgets and managing state funding. TABSO educators will offer guidance on topics such as budget terminology, filling out the State Aid Template, and cash management.
