About Esther Burnham (El Paso)

Esther Burnham (formerly Esther Furrer), the previous assistant superintendent of the El Paso Education Initiative, Inc., possesses extensive leadership experience with organizations ranging from schools and nonprofits to government agencies and an international company. After earning her BA in economics with a minor in government from the University of Texas at Austin, she took on roles with the Revenue Estimating Division of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and provided administrative support for a successful El Paso mayoral campaign. Esther (Furrer) Burnham then moved to New York, where she worked in the Mayor’s Office of Operations and for KPMG LLP. She joined the El Paso Education Initiative, Inc. as a finance administrator following her return to Texas.

Esther (Furrer) Burnham has served her local Texas communities as a volunteer for Coats for Kids and Communities in Schools and has provided support to organizations including the American Jewish World Service and the Jewish Federations of Austin and El Paso. Furthermore, she has contributed to her alma mater as a member of the Texas Exes alumni association. A Texas Longhorns fan, she also follows professional tennis and baseball.
